Background
Born in 1920 in Füssen, Germany, Michael Münzing worked as a carpenter (Zimmermann) prior to the war. He enlisted in September 1939 at the outset of the conflict.
Service History
Münzing was initially assigned to Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 19 before being transferred to Infanterie-Regiment 194.
During the Stalingrad campaign, he was wounded and evacuated, surviving the destruction of his regiment.
Following his recovery, he was reassigned to Grenadier-Regiment 211, where he continues to serve as the assistant machine gunner (MG2) for 1. Gruppe.
Notes
One of the longest-serving members of the unit, Münzing is known for his experience and reliability. As a veteran of the early war and the Stalingrad campaign, he brings a steady and seasoned presence to the company.
